Mitchell Printing & Mailers

· RUSH & SAME-DAY PRINTING

Campaign Emergencies Are Our Normal Workflow

Hearing tomorrow? Mailer that has to drop Friday? Event signage needed yesterday? Call us first. We’ll tell you straight what’s possible — and we don’t take rush jobs we can’t deliver.

Sixty-Five Years of Saying Yes to the Right Rush Jobs

Every campaign hits a moment where the timeline collapses. A debate gets scheduled. An endorsement letter has to land before a vote. An opposing piece drops and you need a response on doorsteps by Friday. Most printers respond to those moments by either refusing the work or accepting it and missing the deadline anyway.

Mitchell built its sixty-five-year reputation on a third option: tell the client immediately and honestly what’s possible. If we can hit your deadline, we say so and execute. If we can’t, we tell you that too — and often suggest a workaround. What we won’t do is take your money for a job we know we can’t deliver.

WHAT WE RUSH

Rush-Capable Work

Same-Day

Available on select small-format jobs: business cards, palm cards, single-color flyers, basic signs. Call before 10 AM with print-ready files for same-day pickup.

Overnight (24-Hour)

Most standard work — door hangers, postcards, palm cards, push cards, small-quantity yard signs — can be turned in 24 hours from approved artwork. Call by 2 PM for next-day pickup.

48–72 Hour Rush

Standard for most mid-volume campaign work: 5,000–20,000 mailers, 500–2,000 yard signs, full walk piece runs. Add a day for complex finishing (folding, perforating, die-cutting).

Weekend / After-Hours

Available for active campaigns in election crunch. Call (213) 623-1277 and leave a message — we monitor after-hours messages during the final two weeks before election day.

HONEST LIMITS

What We Won't Promise to Rush

Honesty saves you from worse problems. Here’s what we’ll tell you straight up needs more time:

  • Bulk apparel runs (t-shirts, hats) — production capacity bottleneck, plan 2–3 weeks
  • Large vinyl banners with complex finishing
  • Custom die-cuts or specialty stocks not in regular inventory
  • Variable data mail with complex personalization
  • Anything that requires us to compromise the APTC union bug or quality standards
HOW RUSH WORKS

From Emergency Call to Finished Job

01 — Call First

Don’t email a rush job. Call (213) 623-1277. We’ll triage the deadline immediately and tell you within five minutes whether it’s possible.

02 — Send Files Same Hour

Send print-ready PDFs or 300 DPI TIFs to orders@gotmitchell.com. No press-ready files? Our design team can prep most files in 1–2 hours during business hours.

03 — Confirm Production

We confirm the production schedule by email or text within 30 minutes. You’ll know exactly when the job goes on press and when it’s ready for pickup or delivery.

04 — Pickup or Delivery

Pickup at the Boyle Heights shop. Delivery available for larger runs — coordinated to your timeline.

QUALITY STANDARDS

Rush Doesn't Mean Cutting Corners

Rush jobs at Mitchell get the same quality check as standard production. Every piece is inspected before it leaves the shop. Every piece carries the APTC union bug. Every piece meets the same press standards.

Rush pricing reflects the production cost — not panic-pricing or “urgency premiums.” We tell you the rush cost upfront. No surprises on invoice.

RUSH PRICING

What Rush Actually Costs

Rush pricing varies by job — typical premium runs 25–50% above standard pricing for 24–48 hour turn, depending on the press time and finishing complexity. Same-day work and weekend work carries a higher premium.

Call us with the job and the deadline. We’ll quote both standard and rush pricing so you can decide whether the speed is worth it for your campaign.
